Ingredients in Crock Pot Buffalo Chicken Dip
Chicken: Use rotisserie chicken or poached chicken breasts for this recipe. Canned chicken can break apart too much and isn’t ideal.
Hot Sauce: Frank’s Red Hot Buffalo Sauce is a favorite but feel free to use homemade buffalo sauce. You can also buy mild buffalo wing sauce if you’d like to tame the heat.
Shredded Cheese: Shred your own cheese for better melting. Use sharp cheddar for the best flavor, or try Monterey Jack or mozzarella cheese. Add some blue cheese crumbles for a twist.
Variations
Try any one of the following additions to change it up:
- chopped celery or bell peppers
- bit of blue cheese dressing or sour cream in place of ranch dressing
- diced jalapenos or bacon

What to Dip in Buffalo Chicken Dip
I love to serve buffalo dip with an assortment of dippers. My personal favorite is veggies. They provide the perfect crunch and balance to the spiciness of the dip!
- Crackers – crostini, Triscuits, Wheat Thins, or baguette slices
- Chips – potato chips or tortilla chips
- Veggies – celery sticks, carrots, broccoli florets, cauliflower florets, or cucumber slices
Or instead of dipping, serve this yummy dip scooped into mushroom caps. Sprinkle with extra cheddar cheese and bake at 350°F for about 15 minutes! Mini appetizers!
Leftovers
Keep leftovers in the fridge for up to 3-4 days. Reheat in the slow cooker, microwave, or on the stovetop over low heat. Give it a stir and enjoy!

Thee best buffalo chicken dip I’ve ever had, hands down !
I’m so happy to hear you love this recipe!
I’m unable to read reviews on this recipe and plan to make it for thanksgiving. How does this compare to the other recipe (besides not using canned chicken). I like to read what others thought. This sounds better but I want to make sure I’m doing it right. I love your recipes and gravitate toward them.
Hi Jennifer, I am so glad you have been loving the recipes! This recipe is very similar to my Best Ever Buffalo Chicken Dip which always has rave reviews, but this recipe has the ease of the Crockpot! I can’t wait to hear what you think once you try it!
