No-bake, no fuss… Millionaire Pie is simple to make and the best part is that it tastes delicious! There’s a very good reason this is one of the top recipes of all time on my blog!
We’ve served ambrosia salad at every holiday meal for as long as I can remember. It’s such a great side and as a kid I always felt like I was having dessert with my dinner. This pie has a similar flavor so if you like ambrosia salad, you’ll love this pie (plus pretty much anything with sweetened condensed milk has to be amazing right?!)!
This pie starts out with a base of sweetened condensed milk mixed with lemon juice (which causes it to thicken). Once thickened, all of the yummy add-ins are mixed in including cherries, pineapple, coconut, and pecans. It’s all poured into a graham crust and put in the fridge to set.
That’s it, no baking, no stove… just easy-peasy stir and pour!
You’ll want to make sure you squeeze out your pineapple as much as you can just to make sure your pie sets up well. If you don’t have a store-bought graham crust, of course, this works with a homemade graham cracker crust.
Note: If you do adapt this recipe to your tastes, do not leave out the lemon juice. The addition of lemon juice thickens the pie and if you skip it your pie will be runny.

made this just great
While this is a great pie, there is NO WAY that it will only take you five minutes to make! The only part that takes 5 minutes is stirring the ingredients up and then pouring it into the pie. The maraschino cherries alone, took me at least 15 minutes to de-stem and cut into tiny pieces. The pecans also, had to be chopped. (I guess if we had bought the pre-chopped kind, it might have shaved off a few seconds.) All in all though…it took me a good half hour to make this pie. Also, for a slightly different topping – try garnishing the pie with chopped nuts mixed with a little bit of coconut. It is much more interesting than just plain cool whip.
i know can you even buy prepared crust at the store? cause i had to do it myself.
I made the Millionaire pie in little mason jars with broken pieces of graham crackers on the bottom of jars. Winner!!
I am going to try this as a dessert without the pie crust in a 9″square pan, Sharey
I made this for the first time, this evening. I would suggest making it the night before you plan to use it. The texture wasn’t as firm as I would have liked, but the taste was wonderful!
Thanks for sharing your tips, Nita! Glad you enjoyed the pie.
Yes isn’t there cream cheese in millionaire pie?
This recipe does not contain cream cheese.
Hi Holly..I made your delicious banana cake today, and it’s out of this world good..I think it’s the best cake I’ve had.. love your blog! Thanks for sharing..Blessings
I don’t care for coconut so I used more cherries and more pecans. Was great!
I made this today for a family gathering. I learned that next time I’ll make it a day ahead. I didn’t have the time for Cool Whip
to thaw. So I used real cream. It just didn’t hold up as well. We still ate it. No one else complained.
Some millionaire pie recipes call for cream cheese & some don’t. What’s the difference? Is taste much different or texture different? Just wondering. Thanks.
Just two delicious ways to make this easy pie. The Cream Cheese gives it a slightly thicker and less fluffy texture but is still delicious. We haven’t tried incorporating cream cheese into this recipe but other readers have had success. Just be sure to whip it until fluffy before adding.
Amazing! This will be my go to yummy, amazing dessert. Thanks for sharing
I love this recipe. I wonder if you could incorporate cream cheese as a stabilizer. Thank you
If you beat the cream until fluffy and fold it in, I think it would work.
